Pride210 Petition to Pride San Antonio

On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, Pride210 formally emailed Pride San Antonio our community petition. That message included the names of every individual who signed at pride210.com/petition because accountability begins with honoring the people brave enough to speak up.

From the start, our intent has been clear. We are making a good-faith effort to work with Pride San Antonio to move our community forward, together. That means being transparent, specific, and honest about what we have asked for and what progress has or has not been made. To that end, Pride210 is publicly tracking each ask and noting whether it has been completed, committed to, or left unaddressed.

One of our requests was simple and long overdue: publish the organization’s bylaws. Pride San Antonio has now done so, and we acknowledge that step. Transparency matters, and this was a necessary move toward rebuilding trust.

At the same time, we cannot ignore what has also been made clear. Pride San Antonio has chosen to double down on its partnership with Justin Nichols, now explicitly reflected in their website updates. For many in our community, this decision deepens concern rather than resolves it.

This moment is painful because it did not have to be. Pride210 exists because people love this community deeply and want Pride to live up to its promise of inclusion, integrity, and courage. We are showing up
with receipts, with names, and with a sincere willingness to make things work. But progress requires more than acknowledgment. It requires accountability, reflection, and meaningful change.

We remain hopeful, but we will remain honest. Our community deserves nothing less.

Our Asks

  • Issue a public apology acknowledging the harm, fear, and betrayal caused by
    partnering with the Texas Conservative
    Liberty Forum.

  • Provide a full public accounting of how and why the decision to partner with Texas Conservative Liberty Forum was made, including which board members approved it and what legal advice was relied upon.

  • Disclose whether Pride San Antonio will continue using legal counsel associated with Texas Conservative Liberty Forum or Republican political organizations, including Justin Nichols, and explain how conflicts of interest are evaluated and mitigated.

  • Restore open communication by re-
enabling public comments and establishing clear, accessible channels for community feedback.

  • Publish Pride San Antonio’s bylaws so the
    community can understand governance,
    authority, and accountability structures.

  • Publish Pride San Antonio’s financials in a
    clear and accessible format.

  • Implement concrete accountability
measures, including leadership changes or resignations where appropriate.

  • Present a clear, time-bound plan for
    rebuilding trust with the LGBTQ+
    community.

Petition to the Pride San Antonio Board of Directors

Pride San Antonio is entrusted with representing and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community of San Antonio. That trust has been profoundly damaged.

On January 9, Pride San Antonio jointly filed a lawsuit with the Texas Conservative Liberty Forum, a known anti-LGBTQ+ organization that publicly supports policies restricting drag performances, opposing DEI initiatives, and advancing legislation that harms transgender people, particularly transgender youth. The lawsuit was rejected by Judge Christine Vasquez-Hortick.

This decision was not a minor error in judgment. It represented a fundamental failure of leadership and a breach of community trust.

In response to widespread outrage, Pride San Antonio issued a carefully worded public statement explaining its intent and asserting that its legal partnership with Texas Conservative Liberty Forum did not constitute endorsement of that organization’s broader policy positions. However, the statement does not include an apology, does not acknowledge the harm caused, and does not outline any concrete corrective actions, accountability measures, or leadership consequences.

Instead of engaging openly with the community, Pride San Antonio disabled comments on social media and limited public communication. These
actions reinforced the perception that leadership prioritized damage control over accountability.

Compounding these concerns is the continued lack of clarity around Pride San Antonio’s legal representation. Community members have raised serious questions about whether Pride San Antonio will continue to use legal counsel associated with the Texas Conservative Liberty Forum and Republican political structures. In particular, Justin Nichols, who has been identified as a Republican precinct chair and has been publicly photographed with Governor Greg Abbott, has been referenced in connection with Pride San Antonio’s legal strategy. Pride San Antonio has not addressed whether it will continue to engage this legal counsel.

For an organization claiming to represent LGBTQ+ people, transparency around legal representation, political affiliations, and potential conflicts of interest is essential. As of today, Pride San Antonio has:

  • Not apologized to the LGBTQ+ community

  • Not acknowledged the fear and harm caused, particularly to trans community members

  • Not outlined any internal review or accountability process

  • Not committed to leadership changes or resignations

  • Not clarified whether it will continue using legal counsel with ties to anti-LGBTQ+ political entities

  • Not provided transparency into governance or finances

This is unacceptable.

Our Ask

We, the undersigned members and allies of the LGBTQ+ community, request that Pride San Antonio immediately:

  • Issue a public apology acknowledging the harm, fear, and betrayal caused by partnering with the Texas Conservative Liberty Forum.

  • Provide a full public accounting of how and why the decision to partner with Texas Conservative Liberty Forum was made, including
which board members approved it and what legal advice was relied upon.

  • Disclose whether Pride San Antonio will continue using legal counsel associated with Texas Conservative Liberty Forum or Republican
political organizations, including Justin Nichols, and explain how conflicts of interest are evaluated and mitigated.

  • Restore open communication by re-enabling public comments and establishing clear, accessible channels for community feedback.

  • Publish Pride San Antonio’s bylaws so the community can understand governance, authority, and accountability structures.

  • Publish Pride San Antonio’s financials in a clear and accessible format.

  • Implement concrete accountability measures, including leadership changes or resignations where appropriate.

  • Present a clear, time-bound plan for rebuilding trust with the LGBTQ+ communiy.

Why This Matters

Pride organizations exist to defend a community that is actively under attack by political forces in Texas and across thecountry. Partnering with organizations or individuals tied to anti-LGBTQ+ agendas, even indirectly, undermines that mission.

Accountability requires more than statements of intent. It requires acknowledgment of harm, transparency about decision-making, and visible consequences when leadership fails.

Silence, deflection, and strategic ambiguity are not leadership.

Our Intent

This petition reflects the community’s good-faith attempt to hold Pride San Antonio accountable and to seek meaningful reform within the existing organization before pursuing alternative structures.

However, if Pride San Antonio continues to avoid responsibility, obscure decision-making, or refuse corrective action, the community will be forced to pursue new leadership and representation that truly reflects LGBTQ+ values.

We will present this petition and its signatures at the Pride San Antonio board meeting on February 18 at 7:00 PM atWoodlawn Pointe and expect direct answers, not deflection.

Pride belongs to the community. Accountability is not optional. Leadership must earn trust.
